#NIWeddingHour Supplier focus
Have you always dreamed of something a little different and exciting for your big day?? Would you love to have your reception somewhere that isn't too far from Belfast and Lisburn? Or maybe adore the thoughts of a tipi tent for your big day?? Then this could be the venue for you!
The first time I drove to the Brewery, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turning into the driveway of Hilden House, I still wasn't sure what to expect. Then I turned the corner and there it was..in all it's glory. A gorgeously old and pretty Georgian courtyard and my first view of the Tipi tents!! I instantly smiled as I seen the picture of President Obama sampling the wonderful delights the Brewery has to offer! I fell in love with it straight away and that was before I had even step foot in the door!
The Tap Room is the restaurant located in the courtyard. Its gorgeous inside and very stylish, but still holding on to its traditional and one of a kind atmosphere.
The Tap Room can be used for weddings and will accommodate up to 120. We recently styled a more intimate wedding here though for around 60 guests and it was simply stunning! We sectioned off an area that was just the perfect size for this amount of guests. With lower ceilings, drapes and twinkling fairylights...it looked wonderful. Some people worry that having a smaller wedding could mean hiring somewhere that leaves a large, vast area unused and looking empty. But we managed to avoid that. I think you will agree it worked a treat!
The main function room is up above the restaurant and is called the "Malt Store". Again it has a warming and welcoming atmosphere. This can hold up to 116 guests. The options for this room decor wise, are endless. Backdrops, uplighters, drapes etc but it has such a wonderful vibe, that generally it doesn't need too much. Personally I feel its perfect for those having a vintage feel to their day. But we can turn it into anything you want!
And here comes my personal favourite....tipi tents. It can be difficult to firstly find somewhere that would allow these on their land, and then comes the search for someone to set these up and give you a reasonable price while also having to hunt or caterers etc... Well this is all done for you!! And only a stones throw from Lisburn centre and about 8 miles from Belfast!
As you drive around the corner of Hilden House and see the tipi tents, you cannot help but get excited! I am pretty sure the first time I seen them, I must have looked like I was catching flies. Whoever made the choice to introduce this, is a genius! There is so much you can do to them and so many themes we can introduce. Imagine a gorgeous vintage or a glamorous touch, maybe a little bit of Morocco! You need to see these to believe them. They hold up to 200 guests.
With food at such a high standard and all made from locally sourced ingredients and wedding meals in the form of a BBQ in the Georgian courtyard, it is difficult to see why someone would struggle to find this venue not suited to most of their guests. And where else can you give your guests beer called "Belfast Blonde" or a "Headless Dog"! And with venue hire prices ranging from £350 to £3000...there is something for everyones pocket! Samples of their yummy wedding menu and BBQ menu can be found on their website along with a full list of their quirky drinks.
Even the designer of the Titanic (Thomas Andrews) was married at Hilden House...the history is fabulous and a full insight is offered on their website.
If you aren't sure whether this venue is for you, why not arrange a visit. Maybe pop up for some dinner in the restaurant, or book a Brewery tour (£6.50 each and runs twice a week), maybe head to their traditional "sessions" on a Wednesday from 7pm to experience a musical get together like no other. Or get yourself to the Hilden Beer and Music festivals in August!
Personally speaking, it is a favourite of mine...professionally speaking, it is still a favourite! The attentive staff will do all they can to make your day as special as possible. Be sure to give us a shout when your planning how to set up your dream room

dahdahdedahhh... dahdahdedahhh... If this tune is ringing in your ears...the chances are you are getting married in the near, or indeed distant future! As a venue stylist, it is a tune that I tend to sing on a daily basis!!
I love all things wedding related and my mind and fingers are constantly stalking the internet and old magazines for new ideas and inspiration! I can often be found stuck in the corner making a mood board or chatting to someone in a random country tracking items down for clients - please note I can only speak English, so should you hear someone shouting HOLA alot on the phone...it's probably me attempting to make contact with a supplier!
We exhaust every avenue to find local suppliers of things we need, but this can be tricky and there are sooooo many ways to hunt online nowadays...that it actually becomes quite confusing! So this is basically how #NIWeddingHour was born!
We want to support our economy and shop local, so to have all the fabulous suppliers of wedding and party items in one place is fabulous! It makes it easy for those working in the industry but also for brides and grooms all over the province!! Make it easier for people to find you by getting your name in as many places as possible! And #NIWeddingHour will be a great way to reach everyone and promote each other!
